Andrew E. Rudd teaches in the Communication Department at George Mason University.  

He has taught courses about rhetoric, culture, media and film.  He has written award winning short scripts and directed and produced award winning short films. 

He has served in University administrative roles including Department Chair,  Director of General Education, Chair of Faculty Development, and Faculty Senator. 

His focus on innovative teaching and learning has included developing courses (in-person, online and hybrid delivery),  integrating new technologies into course work, team-teaching, learning communities, and service learning. 

His public-facing work includes community-based filmmaking initiatives,  local film screenings (focused on independent and international film), and supporting local diversity initiatives.

At George Mason University he teaches Fundamentals of Communication and Mentors Graduate Teaching Assistants.
